No bloody stool does not mean no inflammation
Many ulcerative colitis patients feel relieved when they no longer have bloody stools. However, microscopic bleeding that is invisible to the naked eye may still exist, and if calprotectin levels remain high despite the absence of symptoms, intestinal inflammation is continuing. If inflammation recurs for over 20 years, the risk of DNA replication errors occurring during cell division, which can develop into cancer cells, is extremely high.

After 4 months of herbal medicine treatment, fecal calprotectin levels plummeted from 1848 to 8.5, reaching normal levels. Bloody stools and urgency disappeared, and bowel movement frequency stabilized.

Endoscopy results confirmed a completely clean state from the sigmoid colon to the rectum, including areas where inflammation had previously been severe, with no inflammation present. Blood vessels were clearly visible, and inflammation and bleeding were completely resolved.
